Orbital Wrapping Solution for Timber Flooring
Our customer is a major exporter of hay. Australian quality hay products are in demand around the world with Western Australia this year reporting a bumper crop. With very few “costs” , there is limited scope for improved profitability outside of higher pricing and production speed.
Our customer produces high value timber for flooring applications.
Previously the product was strapped for transport and distribution and the floor installer would use a suitable varnish to cover any imperfections or damage from the transportation.
With their customers becoming more demanding and the installers looking to complete jobs quicker, our customer wanted to lead the market by ensuring the flooring was in the best possible condition when it arrived at the end users site.
As such to protect the timber, FROMM recommended a spiral wrapping process to protect from scratches, marks and stains.
An Orbital Wrapping line was developed by FROMM and built in Europe. To minimise any inconvenience, once it arrived in Brisbane, FROMM built the Orbital Wrapping line in our workshop and invited the customer to inspect it before installation.
Once the customer was happy, the orbital wrapping line was dismantled shipped to the regional NSW site, rebuilt and the customers operations team trained accordingly.
