Health Care Manufacturer Reduces Plastic Consumption

FROMM is focused on developing sustainable products that not only protect our environment but also create cost savings for our clients.

We recently completed a project with a client who wanted to reduce their plastic waste and impact their products have on the environment and are striving to embed sustainable practices across their entire business.

This well-known leading Australian natural health company manufacture a range of vitamin, minerals, herbal and nutritional supplements. All products are manufactured in Australia, palletised and distributed worldwide. The importance of load containment is imperative to ensure the products arrive undamaged and ready for distribution through the retail outlets.

FROMM introduced a new innovative sustainable stretch film that would maintain load integrity but improve sustainability outcomes.

Forza stretch film is a premium grade high stretch low puncture stretch film.

Forza Stretch film is 100% recyclable and will perform in terms of load containment and puncture resistance the same as a traditional 20um stretch film. It is guaranteed to reduce your plastic consumption by as much as 40% and stretch film costs by more than 20%.

It allows customers to apply less film for the same or similar outcomes to their traditional offerings.

FROMM was able to showcase the value of this new stretch film with consistent load containment, sustainability and cost benefits.

This reduction in one way plastic, meets APCO target for 2025 sustainability.  The Australian Packaging Covenant Organisation (APCO) is a not for profit organisation leading the development of a circular economy for packaging in Australia. They work with governments, businesses and other organisations from across Australia’s large and complex packaging value chain to develop the insights, resources and programs that are needed to build a sustainable national packaging ecosystem.

This project was an Australian first in the packaging industry and will revolutionise the way people think about wrapping pallets. The new stretch film has saved this customer over 4 tonne per in reduced plastic, which is not going back into landfill. The customer has been able to save 20% on the amount of expenses, which is a great cost saving for any business.
