Orbital Wrapping Solution for an Aluminium Profile Manufacturer
Our customer is Australia's largest manufacturer and distributor of aluminium profiles. They have a National footprint of world-class aluminium extrusion plants, with eight operating presses with an annual capacity of 75KT. A market leader in supply to fabricators and distributors, focusing on the Residential, Commercial and Industrial segments. Our customer is moving one of their plants and wanted to completely overhaul their dispatch area with a new wrapping machine system. The goal was to ensure all products would be clean, free of grit or grease, and minimal chance of damage during movement and transit.
FROMM Packaging Wrapping Solution
FROMM engineered an orbital wrapping system, where two long gravity conveyors placed either end of a FROMM FV350/50 Orbital wrapping machine. At the entrance and exit point of the orbital wrapper, FROMM placed a small section of a powered conveyor.
As most of the customer product was light and long, FROMM placed guides on the gravity conveyor. Staff placed the product on the infeed conveyor and pushed it towards the Orbital stretch wrapping system. At the point of the wrapper, the powered conveyor activated and pushed then pulled the customer product, therefore, securing the stretch wrapped product.
The benefits of this packaging line to our customer where they helped meet the load containment requirements, higher throughput, controlled packaging costs, increased product integrity & improved WH&S conditions.
