New Packing Line: Automated Strapping Machines & Conveyors for Aluminium Cans
In late 2023, FROMM was contracted to provide new conveyors and two strapping machines for the new packing line at a leading manufacturer of empty aluminium cans for beverage providers (See the drawing below).
The installation was organised in two phases.
The first phase focused on the installation of the conveyors that were needed for the customer palletiser and lead into the FROMM strapping machine. Notably, the customer opted to utilise only FROMM strapping, citing its unparalleled reliability.
The second phase was to install the long conveyor run along with a second automatic strapping machine. This project was completed in November 2023 and was ready for a test run. As anticipated, they were able to switch everything on and it all worked!
While the conveyor sections and arrangements appear straightforward, for those familiar with tertiary packaging and production, the magnitude of work and effort needed was evident.
This project was lead by Ashley Fenton of FROMM NSW (and sold the customer a spare strapping head too).
In Phase 2, Tristan was his offsider and Costa, our project manager, lead the handling of of all the electrical work. Steve Horky (One of our seasoned service tech) backed the team across both aspects of the installation . Whilst doing so, he was also able to maintain and keep up with the day to day workload so other customers were not disadvantaged whilst their tools get serviced.
Our customer has been ecstatic with the FROMM installation with the professionalism and result achieved.
Congratulations to Ashley for his outstanding leadership effort in bringing this project to fruition!
