FROMM Packaging Australia recently partnered with Fibreking on a large Automatic Packaging Installation. Fibreking is one of Australia's leading turnkey packaging solution providers and has a long-standing relationship with FROMM.
Inline Automatic Packaging Solution

Our customer is a leading producer of cartonised eggs. We worked together to design a packaging solution that will handle loads that are fragile and light in weight. Fibreking designed and installed the robotic, palletising and conveying solutions to move the product between the FROMM Automatic Taping systems to the Wrapping Machine where palletised eggs were processed at 30 pallets per hour.

The technical engineers at FROMM had to create a packaging solution that could work with the following constraints:

  • Work within low ceiling heights
  • Manage fragile loads
  • The eggs needed to breathe and cool while being packaged and transported
  • Meet retailer needs for no film dags, sealed edges and excellent presentation.

Our technical engineers designed custom Automatic Taping and Wrapping machines to accommodate the customer needs. FROMM used the FA7 Wrapping Machine with its automatic rotary wrapping arm to wrap the fragile loads. The wrapping head was designed to be used with not only traditional stretch films, but also ventilated film, whereby the egg product could "breathe". As the below video demonstrates with the FA7 wrapping machine, the film dag is blown up under the film and the final seal and cut secures the film to the pallet ensuring no film dags.

With the assistance of Fibre King the end customer was able to package 306,000 eggs per hour which is something only achievable with sophisticated automated machinery.
